Title:
Sales Director Optical Communications
Position
Summary
Successful
candidate will join the rapidly growing Polatis
team in delivering products which will change
the face of optical communications in a variety
of industries.
Primary responsibility will be selling Polatis
products into key telecommunications accounts
in North America, EMEA and/or Asia-Pac. 3
positions are currently available.
Position Type: Full time, permanent, immediate
Location: Flexible
Reports To: VP of Worldwide Sales, located
in Boston
Compensation: Salary will be commensurate
with experience and competitive with industry.
Eligible for Polatis Employee Stock Option
program.

Principal Duties:
Act as the primary interface with customer,
at both engineering and executive levels
Identify and match the customers
underlying business and technical requirements,
to the successful deployment of Polatis products
Manage resources and teams to ensure
successful product trials and first deployments
Provide strategic information to shape
business and product decisions within Polatis
Provide accurate forecast/customer
milestone information based on account activity
Achieve or exceed stated bookings and/or
account development objectives
As appropriate, develop and manage
Polatis channel partners in the region
Travel as necessary to accomplish objectives
Positions Open:
Three Director/Account Manager level positions
are immediately available:
1. Service Provider Accounts, North America:
lead existing and develop new account opportunities
at Tier I and II wireline & subsea service
providers in NA. Candidate will ideally have
sold optical transport equipment at leading
NEM.
2. NEM Accounts, North America and EMEA:
lead existing and developing new account opportunities
at Tier I network equipment manufacturers
(NEMs) in NA and EMEA regions. Candidate will
ideally have sold active components to Tier
I NEMs, as well as have strong understanding/contacts
within carrier optical transport business.
3. Service Provider and NEM Accounts, Asia-Pac:
manage both direct sales opportunities and
Polatis channel partners in the region. Candidate
must have deep account management experience
in the Asia-Pac region.
Candidate Profile:
BS degree or higher; Technical background
preferred
Minimum 7 years experience selling
products to telecommunications service providers
and/or equipment manufacturers (as appropriate
to position)
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation
communication skills
Demonstrable record of meeting/exceeding
sales goals
Strong knowledge of optical telecommunications
networks
Extensive relationships and prior deals
within the target customer base
Must be disciplined, self-motivated,
and tenacious
Willingness to do what it takes
to help accomplish overall team objectives
